Website Migration Audit Tool

We worked on an international website migration project for a global finance company.  The content, assets, functionality and hosting of thirty European websites were to be migrated on to the platform used by their American parent company.

Takka had previously led the build of the web application that runs all the European websites for this company so we had an in depth understanding of the, often very different, needs of each European market. To facilitate this highly complex migration Takka Productions developed a Website Migration Audit Tool.

The web tool supported the process of auditing the sitemap of each country website against a global standard to determine which pages were relevant. Next the county’s own website sitemap could be uploaded, or pages dragged and dropped, to produce a single consolidated view of what the local market site would look like. The web tool had multiple graphical views to facilitate this process and reduce human error.

The web tool also simplified communication between the users in each country and the agency managing the migration by allowing a dialogue to be opened from within the web tool itself.

This bespoke web tool saved hundreds of hours and avoided the need for cross referencing numerous spreadsheets and related documents.
