Suddenly, we are nearing the end of 2022 ….. how did that happen?

In addition to maintaining and developing our existing portfolio of custom systems, we have been focused on building integrations. Integrations help software systems talk to each other.

There are thousands of software services out there now, with customers picking and choosing dedicated offerings that best suit their specific needs. What can really make a software product stand out is its ability to integrate with other systems. This avoids the need for time consuming data migrations or the need to enter the same data into multiple systems. The end customer is buying a system to simplify business processes not to create an administrative burden.

For example, if a business buys new software that produces invoices and their customer data is currently held in another system, it makes sense to pull the existing customer data straight into the invoicing system.

We’ve been writing code to build the bridges between such third party systems. This has been great fun and a great challenge. We've been working with languages and technologies different to those we use for Takka's bespoke systems. These have included Ruby, Python and AWS.

It really is a challenging world out there with so many different web technologies available, but with a judicious choice of systems for your business purposes, and some well specified integrations, you can really streamline your business processes and minimise that costly duplication of effort.
